H‐plane horn antenna with very low side lobes using partially dielectric‐filled gap waveguide technology

In this paper, two H-plane horn antennae are designed using groove and ridge gap waveguide (GGW RGW) techniques. the proposed structures, is partially filled with a dielectric to control amplitude phase distribution across antenna aperture so that very low side lobe level (SLL) can be achieved. Two sample simulated for frequency range from 12 16 GHz, prototypes fabricated. The fabricated show quite wide impedance bandwidth (S11 ≤ 10 dB) of 28% 32% RGW GGW versions, respectively. obtained maximum horns about −30 −24 dB, respectively, over operating bandwidth. comparison state-of-the-art designs, structures introduce much lower SLL.
